Coffe-Date: True West Coffee

It's not often that I come across a coffee shop, with small town flair and a truly unique atmosphere, but I was thrilled when I received the heads-up about a new spot located just a few miles away.
True West Coffee is perfectly stationed in the heart of downtown Hamilton, in a completely renovated Victorian house from the inside, out. From the stenciled floors, to the eclectic collection of furniture, and a strong presence of  "handmade" decor, it's everything I swoon for!
Chris and I enjoyed "T.W.C" so much, we visited again the next day, for a an extension of some one-on-one time! Not only do they provide a wide variety of coffee drinks, but also a solid variety of food selections like "The Hippie", with roasted red pepper hummus, and sun dried tomatoes on a toasted baguette and "Sun Chips"; so insanely yummy!
I'm looking forward to visiting again, soon!

"Martha Marcy May Marlene"

It's been quite some time, since I walked out of a movie theater with chills down my spine from the overwhelming string of emotions a film portrayed. This past Friday I was elated when Chris announced that "Martha Marcy May Marlene" was playing downtown, and without hesitation we jumped in the car and made our way to the theater. With months of built up anxiousness, I took my seat with difficulties of hiding my excitement and overall obsession for what was to come. For anyone who is not familiar with the story line of "Martha Marcy May Marlene", it is a haunting vision of a young woman's struggle adapting to a normal life after escaping an abusive cult, that she was a member of over a two year span. Elizabeth Olsen ("Martha") blew me away with her honest, and raw performance that left me breathless, gripping tight to Chris's hand in utter suspense; and of course I can't leave out John Hawkes ("Patrick") who played the frighteningly charming "cult leader". Without a doubt, this film should be nominated for dozens of awards including Elizabeth Olsen for "Best Actress", because for her first major film, she surely blew it out of the water! If you desire a film that will shake you up, and leave you guessing then "Martha Marcy May Marlene" is my top recommendation!

MARINE BALL + A LITTLE EXTRA

Last night was the annual "Marine Birthday Ball" celebrating the big 236th, so that meant it was time to whip out the evening gown, and dress blues for an evening downtown surrounded by other fellow Marines. But in true Sutton style, we had to make a quick stop to a coffee shop close to our heart and full up for the night ahead.

This was my second year attending the bash, which is crazy to think how much Chris and I's relationship has progressed so quickly. I could hardly contain a smile every time Chris introduced me as his wife, or I heard someone call me "Mrs. Sutton". Although the night was a beautiful one, It made me a bit sad to think about next year, and how we won't be able to attend. I would give anything for Chris to stay home, but it was nice to enjoy a night out in HIS element, and making me SO thankful to be married to such an amazing, and strong individual.
